hal scherzHal C. Scherz MD has been practicing pediatric urology for 23 years. He has been in private practice in San Diego, California and in Atlanta, Georgia and has been on the faculty of the University of California- San Diego and Emory University.  He’s the founder of Docs for Patient Care..  one of the most prominent physician groups in championing sensible healthcare reform.

Listen as Eddie and Dr. Scherz discuss the impact of Obamacare on small business, and an insiders perspective of the problems of modern medicine. He has been involved in resident and fellow training for all of his career, and has published over 75 peer reviewed articles and contributed chapters to 6 academic texts. He has been a reviewer for over 20 years for the major peer reviewed journals in Urology, has been a primary investigator in numerous clinical research projects and been invited to be a visiting professor in a number of institutions. Dr. Scherz is a former president of the American Association of Pediatric Urologists.

Dr. Scherz has been the chief of Pediatric Urology and Managing Partner of Georgia Pediatric Urology since 1994. He has served on the boards of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Ambulatory Surgery Center, The Children’s Helthcare Network, and Georgia Pediatric Subspecialists. He currently is involved in the exploratory committee to organize a city wide Pediatric ACO in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Scherz has been the Medicaid reviewer for Pediatric Urology since 1996. He has been named as one of the top physicians by Atlanta Magazine, every year since 2005.

In May of 2009, Dr. Scherz founded the physician group, Docs 4 Patient Care, which has subsequently become one of the most prominent physician groups in championing sensible healthcare reform. He was a featured speaker on a healthcare panel at CPAC in 2010. He has had 2 Wall Street Journal opinion pieces published in 2010 and others featured in Real Clear Politics and other online publications. He has appeared on over 50 nationally syndicated radio shows and on Fox News shows.
