Dr. Matthew John on Driven to Business
We often don’t think of Doctors as small business people, but many that run small and mid sized clinics are just that. They face the same issues as any small entrepreneur, and on top of that, have to meet a myriad of educational and regulatory requirements.
Dr. Matthew John is the owner of the Ankle and Foot center in Marietta. (Click HERE for contact info)
Dr. John is originally from the Chicago area where his family decided to settle after emigrating to the US from India in the late ’60s. Once relocating to Augusta, Georgia, he finished his undergraduate degree from Augusta State University.
After receiving his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree, he completed 3 years of residency in the Baltimore/Washington, DC area which included serving at the National Naval Medical Center, treating the military as well as members of Congress. He received extensive training in reconstructive foot surgery and limb salvage and served as Chief Resident during his third year.
Dr. John is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. He is a published medical journal author as well.
Listen in as Eddie and Matthew discuss not only the Podiatry business, but the practice of medicine in general, customer service, marketing, careers, and leadership.

Scott Hinds: Vegas Performer, Million Dollar Quartet
Scott Hinds was a well liked middle school teacher in East Tennessee when he suddenly got lucky and was chosen to play the role of Carl Perkins in the Vegas production of Million Dollar Quartet. OK, not really, as with all “luck” stories, luck had very little to do with it.
Scott’s business and career change holds great lessons for anyone. It’s a story of hard work, vision, hard work, creativity, hard work, determination, hard work, and perseverance. There really is not a more competitive business than professional music, and Scott’s story is both informative and inspiring. It’s also a heart warming story of a truly nice person doing well.
You’ll not want to miss this podcast of Eddie’s interview with Scott Hinds which aired on Saturday December 20th.
