November 23rd Show with Christopher Smalt, Cornell University Facilities
Few people have any idea of how complicated and stressful running a utilities plant at an Ivy League University can be. Christopher Smalt is the assistant plant manager at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
While Chris aspires to be “behind the scenes” the power, heating, air and water he provides to the students, workers, and faculty there is quite public, and the failure in any of those areas is a big problem.
Along with Chris, is EMA’s National Sales manager David Brigden. Listen as Eddie, David, and Chris talk about customer pressures, leadership issues, career paths, and the upstate New York area. Of special interest to many of you, is the Lake Cooling project there at Cornell, where they use the cold and deep waters of Cayuga Lake to save enormous amounts of energy there at Cornell.
